Australia is among more than 100 countries that have committed to triple the world''s renewable energy generation capacity within six years, signing a pledge on the sidelines of the United Nation''s COP28 climate
1 天前· Australia is a world leader in rooftop solar, which now powers over 10 per cent of the grid. And this is just another manifestation of the inevitability of solar''s rise.
Now it is building a 30-megawatt reference plant in Port Augusta, South Australia, with eight hours of full-load storage. Vast will also build a 7500-tonnes-a-year green methanol plant next door...
Dubai''s abundant sunshine helps to power our state-of-the-art Engine Maintenance Centre, where we installed a one megawatt array of solar photovoltaic panels. The 2,990 panels form a roof
At the annual United Nations climate meeting in the United Arab Emirates, Australia was one of the 118 countries to make a commitment to treble renewable energy capacity and double energy efficiency by 2030. Ahead of

The 700 MW combines both central tower and parabolic trough concentrated solar power (CSP) technologies, like the 550 MW NOOR I, II, and III in Morocco (Noor means "light" in Arabic). The NOOR I tower segment that came online in
French multinational power firm Engie has begun construction works on the 250MW Goorambat East solar farm in Victoria, Australia. The project, expected to be operational by 2027, is Engie''s first solar plant in
An ambitious plan to build a massive solar farm in remote northern Australia to transmit energy by a submarine cable to Singapore is a step closer after the Australian government granted environmental approvals for
Australia''s embrace of much loftier renewable energy goals comes just days after the government had to rewrite the blueprint for its own, domestic target amid concerns the country would fall short.
Darren Miller, boss of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, says there are some promising solar thermal companies operating in Australia. Among them are RayGen, which has a plant at Mildura near the New South Wales-Victoria border, and Sundrop Farms at Port Augusta in South Australia.
(ABC News: Adrian Wilson) Solar thermal technology has been used around the world for more than 30 years, but is still in its early stages of development in Australia. An Australian company says it's time to bring concentrated solar power into Australia's renewable energy mix.
Australia says it will commit to increasing its amount of green energy. (Supplied) Australia has joined more than 100 other countries across the globe in committing to a tripling of renewable energy capacity by the end of the decade in another coup for the organisers of this year's UN climate talks.
Important advancements towards renewable energy are noticeable as one in three Australian homes, or three million homes, have solar PV installations totalling 17 GW of capacity.
Among them are RayGen, which has a plant at Mildura near the New South Wales-Victoria border, and Sundrop Farms at Port Augusta in South Australia. Vast Solar, which has been given money by the Australian government, is also constructing a 30MW utility-scale project also in South Australia.
Plants like that in the UAE can be hard to control at the very high temperatures, and a 260-metre tower is expensive to build and difficult to get permitted. Craig Wood, CEO of Vast Renewables, at the Noor Energy 1 solar farm near Dubai.
