I worked for MCL Energy as a Lead engineer /Supervisor. Took over from a Supervisor who was leaving due to stress. Soon found out why. I was managing five sites that were under manned, with unqualified staff and with multiple roles. Call-out could be 1 in 2 and the sites were rundown. Managed to turn it around but was getting ill trying.

The energy generated at Itaipu is carried through high voltage (600 kV) direct current transmission lines (810 km long), as Brazil buys the excess energy generated at the Paraguayan side at 50 Hz, converting it to direct current and then reconverting it to
In Brazil, the industrial and transportation sectors use most of the energy. • Crude oil and other petroleum liquids production contributes significantly to Brazil''s total energy production, accounting for 54.0% of total energy production and 44.2% of total energy consumption in 2021 (Table 1). Brazil is the largest producer of petroleum

Brazil leads South America in the clean energy revolution with a power market dominated by hydro generation. However, reliance on hydro comes with challenges: It is notably sensitive to precipitation patterns and climate events which could lead to an increased dependence on thermal fossil-fuelled plants.

Mcl - Investimento e Participacoes Minerarias Ltda. is an enterprise located in Brazil, with the main office in Maringa. The enterprise operates in the Corporate, Subsidiary, and Regional Managing Offices industry. It was incorporated on September 28, 2021.
Brazil's energy production in 2021 accounted for 2.0% of global production and 48.8% of South America's total. Energy consumption in Brazil increased by an average annual growth rate of 0.5% between 2011 and 2021, compared with 3.3% between 2000 and 2010, driven by Brazil's real GDP per capita growth (Figure 4).
Brazil's energy mix is diverse; hydropower, fossil fuels, biofuels, wind energy, and solar power all make significant contributions (Table 1). Brazil's total energy production increased by an average annual growth rate of 1.5% from 2011 to 2021.
While wind and solar represent about 20 percent of Brazil’s electricity mix today, 2 McKinsey research has suggested that their levelized cost of energy (LCOE) could decrease by 27 percent and 46 percent, respectively, by 2040 (Exhibit 2).
The development of sustainable fuels is one of several areas in which the global energy and climate dialogue could benefit from Brazil’s leadership. In the IEA’s Net Zero Emissions by 2050 Scenario, demand for sustainable fuels – such as biofuels, biogases and low-emissions hydrogen – doubles by 2030 and then nearly doubles again by 2050.
Biofuels dominate as the primary energy source for the Brazilian industry, accounting for 48 percent of the energy mix. 15 However, fossil fuel sources still constitute 29 percent of the energy mix, while electricity, a key indicator of industrial energy efficiency, makes up 23 percent. 16 This largely aligns with the global average. 17
Diversifying and optimizing the energy systems, cutting grid losses, and investing in energy efficiency could help expand Brazil’s energy mix and potentially lower prices. Decades of supportive public policies and investment have placed Brazil at the top of a mix of global markets for energy generation (exhibit).
