However, the authors believe that with the growth of renewable energy and intermittent energy sources, the concept of electrochemical energy storage can be extended to the electrochemical synthesis and production of fuels, chemicals, petrochemicals, etc. The vision of the approach is shown in Fig. 38.1 .
