《1 Introduction》 1 Introduction. The iron and steel industry is a fossil energy-intensive industry, whose greenhouse gas emissions account for ~7% of the world''s total emissions [1].Nearly
Longer term, the availability of premium hard-coking coal (PHCC) is a major concern to international steel makers. Wood Mackenzie''s coal supply asset data suggests a net drop in premium low volatile HCC supply by
Cameroon is currently grappling with a significant energy crisis, which is adversely affecting its economy due to cost, reliability, and availability constraints within the
In this era of exponential growth in energy demand and its adverse effect on global warming, electrochemical energy storage systems have been a hot pursuit in both the scientific and industrial communities. In this
Yet should the world''s steel industry deliver on its net zero emission targets, the demand for coking coal could well enter terminal decline over the coming three decades. The International Energy Agency''s World
Coal Provides 24/7 Energy. Coal plays a crucial role in supporting renewable energy sources by ensuring grid stability and a continuous power supply, which is vital for preventing power outages, particularly given
Coking Coal Market by Type (Medium coking coal, Pulverized coal injection coal, Semi-soft coking coal, Hard coking coal), By Application (Power Industry, Metallurgy, Chemical, Train, Others)
Although renewables consumption is fast developing in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America, significant coordination efforts are required among stakeholders in sub-Saharan Africans countries such as Cameroon. In 2018, the total final

The sealed packaging maintained the integrity of the coal composition during transportation and storage, Maceral composition directly influences the energy value of coal, coking properties
Cameroon is not a coal producer, and given the need to reduce emissions and ensure energy security, it is not considered a generation option. Likewise, nuclear was not considered due to the relatively long lead time, immense capital costs and very high associated operational risks.
There is significant geothermal energy due to the Cameroon volcanic line, offshore wind and tidal energy. However, these are not considered due to their “unfavorable” tag in the government masterplan. Cameroon is not a coal producer, and given the need to reduce emissions and ensure energy security, it is not considered a generation option.
The potential for wind energy exists in the coastal and northern regions of Cameroon. However, wind speeds are not sufficient to develop sustainable wind energy projects (REEEP, 2012). There have not been any eforts to seriously develop geothermal energy.
Keutchafo et al. reviewed issues of geothermal exploration with a focus on existing barriers hindering the geothermal energy development in Cameroon. By appraising geothermal resources and use in Cameroon, Kana et al. identified several potential geothermal sites using thermal methods.
The government of Cameroon plans to step up its renewable generation to increase the rural electricity access rate, diversify the generation mix and achieve greater energy security as part of its NDC.
