Scatec has entered an agreement with the Lesotho Electricity Company and the Government of Lesotho to build the country’s first IPP solar project of 20MW. The Power Purchase Agreement, and Connection Agreement and Implementation Agreement were signed at an official ceremony in Lesotho capital Maseru last week.
It is planned in Mafeteng, Lesotho. According to GlobalData, who tracks and profiles over 170,000 power plants worldwide, the project is currently at the permitting stage. It will be developed in a single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2024 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2025.
